Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) presents a selection of contemporary works from the collection in “Experience & Expression,” on view through October 3, 2021.
The exhibition is grouped into three themes: abstraction, materiality and identity. Each group evokes the motif of emotion through color, form and texture from the materials used. There are approximately 25 works in total that have never, or rarely been seen by the public, by artists such as Yoko Ono, McArthur Binion, Rashid Johnson, Elias Sime, and Avery Singer.
