“In the Beginning,” an exhibition of new paintings by Joel Mesler, is on view at Lévy Gorvy in Hong Kong through August 14. Mesler integrates images and text to explore the intersection of his private cultural experiences with the universal human consciousness. The show features boldly stylized patterns and natural forms, bearing resemblance to exotic wallpapers from the mid-twentieth century.
