INFORMATION (Today)

Driven by the realization that our lives are shaped by the constant flow of data in the Information Age, “INFORMATION (Today)” is a group exhibition responding to the MoMA’s 1970 exhibition “INFORMATION,” which looked at the major technological advancements of the time. Here, Kunsthalle Basel is employing the work of 16 artists from around the world to follow fifty years of developments in a vibrant, visually stimulating compilation of art across mediums both physical and digital. Including names like Trevor Pagan, Liu Chuang, Ima-Abasi Okon, and Sondra Perry, viewers will find in the show works like Marguerite Humeau’s sculptural installation referencing the aggressive obstacles of airport security, canvases from Tobias Kaspar looking at logomania, and work from Cameron Rowland examining the criminal justice system and devices it uses, like a car battery-powered LoJack vehicle tracking device, titled 0D20612.
