In order to give you the best of Los Angeles around the fair, Whitewaller spoke with art advisor Sharón Zoldan.

FAVORITE SPOT TO FIND INSPIRATION
Recently, I read a fascinating biography, Duveen: A Life in Art, on the dealers that helped build the collection at the Huntington Libraries. It’s an old-world oasis, complete with a tea room, botanical gardens, libraries, and the occasional Gainsborough and J.M.W. Turner.

BEST OFF-THE-BEATEN-PATH PLACE TO SEE ART
Where can you spot a Rothko over the couch, a Bacon in the hallway, and a Brancusi in the entry? The Frederick Weisman Collection, a quirky time capsule in Holmby Hills, houses absolute masterpieces. The Spanish style home and collection was bequeathed to the state at the time of Weisman’s death and has been virtually untouched since. Other stellar artists include Ken Price, Clyfford Still, Pablo Picasso, Willem De Kooning, Roy Lichtenstein, and Rene Magritte.

BEST KEPT SECRET IN LOS ANGELES
Galerie Half in WeHo is a design showroom that is TO-DIE-FOR. Exquisite pieces on view: from vintage lamps and British 19th-century chaise lounges to tribal masks and dark, brooding-colored backdrops.
