Through October 23, Gagosian’s Park Avenue gallery is presenting an exhibition of new paintings by the artist Kon Trubkovich, titled “The Antepenultimate End.” With recollection as his main area of focus, Trubkovich calls on imagery both historic and contemporary, reconstructing events while investigating the ways that memories (both personal and collective) often contradict one another. The works on view—like the exhibition’s namesake, an oil painting measuring at 77 x 110 inches—utilize on-screen imagery as a metaphor for displacement, appearing as though they came from a television screen with a fuzzy connection.
