“Laurent Grasso: Future Herbarium” is on view at Perrotin Hong Kong through April 24, 2021. Central to the exhibition is Grasso’s recent film, Artificialis, his first made entirely of treated footage and produced with the Musée d’Orsay. The new series of work from which the show gets its name, features 19th-century-herbarium-style sculpted flowers, inspired by the flora that mutated after the Fukushima disaster in Japan. Some are painted, some are cast in bronze, others carved in marble. Also on view is Grasso’s “Studies into the Past” series and Solar Wind video installation.
