On view at Kohn Gallery is a solo show by Chiffon Thomas.
April 9, 2021 - May 21, 2021
The interdisciplinary artist Chiffon Thomas is presenting a solo show entitled "Antithesis" at Kohn Gallery. The artist's practice—ranging from hand-embroidered mixed media, painting, collage, drawing, and sculpture—is seen throughout the space, highlighting Thomas's identity as a non-binary queer person of color. "Antithesis" denotes how opposing objects can exist within a single space, living in their own created utopia. Here, the artist's multimedia works examine issues of race, gender, and sexuality, complemented by photography that specifically preserves and repairs history.
