Naama Tsaba: Melodies of Certain Damage

Opening February 15, Shulamit Nazarian presents a second solo show with artist Naama Tsaba.

February 15, 2023 - February 25, 2023

Opening February 15, Shulamit Nazarian presents a second solo show with artist Naama Tsaba titled “Melodies of Certain Damage.” Music, sculpture, and performance are fused into an imaginative and skillful reinvention of the uber-masculine, rock-and-roll tradition of guitar smashing. Tsaba activates the viewers’ senses with the revival of a broken guitar in sensual optic and sonic exploration. The “Gaffer”series repositions gaffer tape as an object of interest on the gallery wall, playing with perception and practices of minimalism. In collaboration with female and gender non-conforming individuals, Tsaba experiments with the transitions of sound through space, recovering male-dominated space and developing a new queer narrative.
