Hosted by Proyecto Paralelo, Melanie Smith’s “Fifteen Minutes of Sublime Meditation” is on view until November 7. Her work, done in a series of paintings and videos, approaches entropy, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. She invites visitors to slow down with her, making pointed remarks about the relentless speed and availability of the digital image. Accompanying her exhibit is a series of photos and textile pieces produced in collaboration with Annuska Angulo.
Proyecto Paralelo will be featured in Gallery Weekend México, taking place from November 5—7.
