The eighth installation in kurimanzutto’s “Siembra” series, “Drawing Room” consists of a selection of works on paper by the writer and illustrator Pablo Soler Frost. In an exploration of masculinity, the drawings on view explore the male nude form in either pencil or India ink. Frost’s sketches incorporate specific gestures into the minimalist figures—like quivering flesh or memories of mountain landscapes—drawing the conclusion that masculinity, in this case, is unstable, contradictory, sensual, vulnerable, and heroic.
