Curated by MOCA curator Adeze Wilford, the show reveals a collection of poetic and haunting black-and-white photographs documented with a mechanical medium-format camera and a new film that features oral histories from the heads of troupes who design the costumes and develop the narratives of Carnival, spotlighting themes of innovation and the self-generated mythology ever-present in Haitian culture.
