Organized by Fiera Milano, miart returns to Milan, where director Nicola Ricciardi hosts 145 galleries in Fieramilanocity. The fair celebrates its 25th iteration and the return of an in-person format. This year, the fair’s theme, “a blossoming of trust,” informs new initiatives to forge connections between participating artists and reinforce the city of Milan as a site for cultural and civil development.
In a continuation of hybridizing the digital space with in-person festivities, fairgoers in the flesh and online alike can experience the artist’s process with the introduction of new initiatives like And Flowers / Words, made up of weekly conversations between different artistic and cultural figures. Another is Starry Worlds, drawing connections between different Milano institutions by asking artists to share poetry that has impacted their artistic process. The pieces of poetry were anthologized and used to form a poetic map of Milan.
miart makes its return on September 17 and will be on view until September 19. A VIP preview of the fair will be held on September 16.
