Filling the ground floor and the external room of the Fondazione ICA Milano is Michael Anastassiades’s “Cheerfully Optimistic About the Future.” Open through January, 2022 and curated by Alberto Salvadori in conversation with Anastassiades, the exhibition features a carefully conceived display of items and objects from the designer’s own collections, which have been made primarily using a new material within his studio practice, bamboo. Anastassiades is best known for his multifaceted practice, which blurs the boundaries between multiple avenues of design, including product, environment, and interior design.
