The Molteni Group is the main sponsor of “Aldo Rossi. Design 1960-1997,” on view through October 2 at Museo del Novecento. The show, curated by Chiara Spangaro, features 350 objects, including furniture, drawings, paintings, and models, designed by the 20th-century master architect and long-time friend of the Molteni Group. The exhibition, staged by Rossi’s collaborator and business partner Morris Adjmi, showcases Rossi’s designs in nine rooms, each representing a unique dialogue between graphic design, quality handicrafts, and industrial products, in the development of the artist’s oeuvre. In Rossi’s own words, “a piece of furniture is a mixture: the form, the purpose, the material and lots of beautiful things that are attributed to architecture. Pieces of furniture are ‘treasured objects,’ or at least I believe that they should be.”
