Currently on view at Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan is Anicka Yi’s solo exhibition “Metaspore” through July 24. Curated by Fiammetta Griccioli and Vicente Todolí, the contemporary artist presents over 20 installations that merge philosophical explorations with biology, politics, and science fiction. Yi invites viewers on a sensory journey as they experience a variety of fragrances while becoming acquainted with nature’s ecological community. The multifaceted exhibition narrates Yi’s projects and investigations from the last decade, in which the artist collaborated with masters in the fields of architecture, science, and perfumery. While on a quest to unveil the concerns of science and technology today, Yi reflects on her past work and begins to imagine what treasures the future might hold.
