In celebration of Salone del Mobile, founder and editor in chief of Cabana, Martina Mondadori, launches the online marketplace's first range of lighting under the publication's label, Casa Cabana. Available directly through Cabana and on theinvisiblecollection.com, the designs are inspired by the late 20th-century Italian architect and set designer Renzo Mongiardino, who designed Mondadori's childhood home in Milan. Key styles, Cilindro, Renzo, and Giacomo, are made from brass and metal, underscoring balance and functionality. The cylindrical shape of Cilindro stands effortlessly in all environments, while Giacomo and Renzo are widely recognized as two of the most iconic designs that Mongiardino employed in the famous Giacomo Restaurant in Milan.
Mondadori said: "Good lighting is to decoration what good tailoring is to fashion...Mongiardino had mastered the art of lighting by adapting his skills as a set designer to interiors, always trying to create an atmosphere, to add layering and drama. This is what we always look for in the interiors we publish on Cabana Magazine and therefore it is a natural extension for our Casa Cabana brand."
