On view at Fondazione Prada in Milan is Elmgreen & Dragset’s exhibition “Useless Bodies?” through August 22. One of the venue’s most enthused projects, stretching more than 3,000 square meters, immersive installations take on the loss of our physical existence as human beings in the 21st century and its immeasurable effects on mind, body, and spirit going forward. Said Elmgreen & Dragset, “Our bodies are no longer the main agents of our existence. They don’t generate value in our societies’ advanced production methods as they did in the industrial era. One could claim our physical selves have even become more of an obstacle than an advantage.”
