For the occasion of Salone del Mobile, “Future of Fashion: An innovation conversation with Stella McCartney” can be found filling the spaces of Milan’s historic Caselli di Porta Nuova for the run of the fair. Presented with support from Bank of America, the installation takes place across several curated rooms, representative of the brand’s earth-conscious vegan designs and its creation of the world’s first luxury mycelium bag, which was made in partnership with Bolt Threads.
In one room, a look at sustainable fashion is highlighted through a showcase of products like the fungi-fabricated Mylo Frayme Bag V7, Skyla boots, and the brand’s collaboration with adidas. In the second room are a video message from Peta and an in-depth look at the production of mycelium-based materials. Upstairs are spaces dedicated to Stella McCartney’s collaboration with B&B Italia, reimagining the renowned Le Bambole armchair, and a coordinating wallpaper collaboration with Cole & Son, which sees a charming hand-drawn toile de Juoy imagined with species of fungi. The experience is complete with a curated pop-up shop and an immersive infinity room, which invites viewers to get lost in a landscape of psychedelic fungi, with a bioelectric soundscape by Cosmo Sheldrake.
