On view during Milan’s Salone del Mobile, “Prada Frames” is a multifaceted symposium that explores the intricate relationship between design and our natural environment. Curated by research and design studio Formafantasma, the event focuses on design’s historical, political, and social implications—bringing together the valuable contributions of scientists, architects, designers, artists, activists, anthropologists and law experts. The first session of the symposium, in the National Braidense Library in Milan, examines the ecosystem of the forest and the logics that govern the timber industry today, extending to the role of design and science as agents of change. Two sessions per day include readings, debates, conversations, and video projections with the participation, among others, of Amitav Ghosh, Eyal Weizman, Anna Tsing and the Feral Atlas, Paola Antonelli, Alice Rawsthorn, Paulo Tavares, Andrés Jaque and Valerie Trouet.
