The 61st edition of Salone del Mobile returns to the Fiera Milano in Milan’s Rho district, where over 550,000 square feet of exhibition space will welcome 1,962 brands and exhibitors. Reclaiming its pre-pandemic calendar spot, the fair will be open to the public from April 18—23, featuring a selection focused on quality, user experience, and cultural value, as well as sustainability, which has been an ongoing focus. Attendees will find the latest in design set across several exhibitions, including the Salone Internazionale del Mobile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition, Workplace 3.0, S.Project, SaloneSatellite, and Euroluce—the lighting Biennial, which has been imagined with an entirely new format.
Sharing design debuts that are both innovative and beautiful, the Salone Internazionale del Mobile welcomes hundreds of presenting names, including those like Infiniti, Compar, Bellavista Collection, Ambiance Italia, Versace Home, Animovel, Clei Contract, Diabla, Zanotta, Tiptoe, Saccaro, and Roche Bobois. Meanwhile, the International Furnishing Accessories Exhibition encompasses presentations of furniture, accessories, textiles, and decorative objects, where the likes of Zanotta spa, Vittoria Frigerio Milano, Treca Paris, 3F Filippi spa, Reflex, Jaipur Rugs Company Pvt ltd, Tom Dixon, Hommes Studio, and Nani Marquina sl will be presenting.
Returning every other year, the Euroluce exhibition debuts a reconceptualized format by Formafantasma and Lombardini22 that creates a simplified layout between its four pavilions, inspired by the street plans of traditional Italian towns. Now in its 31st edition, this year’s lighting show was conceived around the concept “The City of Lights”. Meanwhile, Workplace3.0 introduces design and technology that focuses on innovations for the workplace, from reception areas and office spaces to procurement plans, in a format reflecting the dynamic nature of the present-day office.
In S.Project, visitors will find the decorative and technical aspects of design converging to create multidimensional spaces, home to a range of products, goods, and furnishings for indoors and out. Finally, SaloneSatellite is a dedicated sector for designers under 35, this year shining its spotlight on the lead theme “BUILDING THE (IM)POSSIBLE Process, Progress, Practice”. Featuring 550 designers and 27 international design schools, selected by a committee of designers, architects, and industry professionals, each featured designer has been prompted to employ their presentation to answer the question “Where are you going?”
