During Milan Design Week 2022, Slowear and WRÅD launch a new collaboration dedicated to the value of time and responsible design. Under the banner of environmental and social responsibility, the new capsule is a result of production processes and creative choices dictated by the rhythms of nature. The launch showcases 100 exclusive limited-edition t-shirts, and 20 sweatshirts, made with handcrafted expertise and original botanical printing techniques. The fabric of the t-shirts, produced in Italy, is a jersey made with jacquard looms using GOTS-certified organic cotton yarn. The sweatshirts, made of recovered cotton, are all one-of-a-kind pieces. The botanical printing process is handcrafted on each garment by Textile Anthropology founders Evelina Marconi and Nicoletta Piazza. The accompanying WRÅD Education x Slowear program is a training project with an amplified social impact, offering sustainability workshops to students in Italy and around the world.
Matteo Ward, CEO of WRÅD, said: "In the name and manifesto of the Slowear brand, we found the physiological starting point to structure this path of sharing between our businesses, leading to the creation of design objects resulting from processes whose "slowness" was the creative force behind everything. Objects designed for those who, like us, are looking to rediscover the pleasure of using and enjoying an item of clothing, and who no longer want to limit themselves to mere consumption".
