The Aspen Art Museum is showing “Mountain / Time,” a moving pictures exhibition with works from the Rosenkranz Collection and the Whitney Museum of American Art, through September 11. “Mountain / Time” connects with the local Colorado environment, as the exhibition’s themes of geography and time resonate with the mountains and Aspen tree root structure in the surrounding area. Videos on display were filmed across the world from artists such as Ian Cheng, Arthur Jafa, and Mark Leckey. The exhibition was curated by Chrissie Iles with Anisa Jackson and Simone Krug and coincides with several film screenings and speaking events, as well as Cauleen Smith’s two-week residency with Anderson Ranch.
