Nairy Baghramian's "Misfits"

Nairy Baghramian: Misfits

Part of Fondazione Furla’s Furla Series, the institution presented an exhibition of work by the artist Nairy Baghramian, “Misfits.” Debuted at the Galleria d’Arte Moderna (GAM) in Milan, Baghramian’s first Italian institutional exhibition (curated by Bruna Roccasalva) encompasses the museum’s indoor and outside spaces, stretching across the ground floor and the terrace. Putting in place the stipulation that the presentation can only be visited by adults who are accompanied by children, Baghramian has explored the dualities of childhood and its playful, reassuring nature, alongside the frustration of its limited accessibility. Viewers will find within this context a series of large-scale sculptures, which have been made of two distinct halves, where the disjointed parts (evocative of toys) suggest a whole.
