GANNI Williamsburg

Eliza Jordan

2 September 2021

In July 2021, GANNI Williamsburg opened in New York as the brand’s sixth store in America. For the occasion, the Copenhagen-based label partnered with artists and designers on new products and object and furniture designs. Ceramicist and painter Didi Rojas created two site-specific works, and designer Kim Nguyen of Nguyen Inc. produced a limited-edition collection of shirts exclusive to the store. The store’s aesthetic takes design cues from its SoHo sister store on Mercer Street, which opened in October 2019, and is meant to reflect the electric energy of Copenhagen. Furnished with recycled glass tableware from the Danish glass artist Nina Nørgaard, the space is also adorned with unique vintage furniture by Børge Mogensen. In addition, GANNI continues its dedication to responsible elements, featuring display podiums crafted from recycled plastic waste by Smile Plastic and rugs made from upcycled leftover GANNI fabrics.

Whitewaller recommends: Not missing the store’s cozy back patio.
