Nicole Miescher: Recent Works

On view at Galerie Gisèle Linder is “Recent Works,’’ an exhibition showcasing different types of works by Nicole Mischer, ranging from landscape, architecture, flowers and a monumental image of riders. The exhibition features a collection of both spontaneous and sought out pictures created by the artist during her exploration of foreign lands and in her everyday life. Mischer then digitally reworks the images in her studio, often leading to abstraction. The artist’s interest in landscape and architecture grew whilst she travelled to South Africa in recent years, and can also be traced back to her 1990s series of black-and-white photographs from Siberia. “Recent Works’’ offers digitally edited images of the sea and mountains, considered by the artist as places where heaven and earth meet. The artist has also been focusing on floral still lifes, which she digitally edits as well, resulting in often abstract and landscapes-like images.
