Timed to Museo Jumex‘s re-opening, “Normal Expectations” greets guests to a thematic exhibition that magnifies contemporary art made in Mexico over the past 20 years. Filling the entire museum is more than 60 works by Mexico-based artists, including those of international origin, and Mexican artists living and working abroad. The first floor features three different installations presented sequentially; the second floor is divided into three sections, focused on recording technologies like vinyl records and early electronic media; and the third floor exhibits work in three sections to consider how common activities, materials, and objects represent what is lost and recuperated.
