Founded by Katrin Brökelmann and Katherina Marx, Appia Appia refers to one of the oldest and most important roman routes connecting Rome with Brindisi. For this creative duo, the name is a symbol of connecting Mediterranean culture with their personal taste. The German natives have also lived in Paris where they acquired a knack for interior design and nailed the effortless French mode de vivre down to an art. In fact, Katherina’s affinity is rooted in her work as a producer and presenter of TV shows in France while Katrin comes from a family of editors who researched design and interiors for international brands. The concept shop in Nardo marries years of artistic inspiration and study, offering a colorful and playfully eclectic mix of local and international craftsmanship with a focus on quality, sustainability and durability. The seasons may chance but the collection is always inspired by Salento with its mix of “the sacred and the profane”, the opulence of Baroque and the ruggedness of rural life.
