Random International: Living Room

Katy Donoghue

28 November 2022

Cutting-edge cultural institution Aorist debuts a new commission by the internationally renowned post-digital art group Random International, titled “Living Room.” In cooperation with Faena Art, the experiential, light-based installation examines the influence of blockchain technology on art and our daily lives. At the Faena Beach pavilion, visitors will embark on a shifting architectural domain that reacts to the movements of its inhabitants in the form of sound, lights, and fog. Motion sensors follow audience members, resulting in a looped video, which can be collected as an NFT. Data acquired during the art exhibition will also be minted as an NFT, producing the first archive of an immersive artwork preserved on the blockchain.
