Domaine du Muy opens their Sculpture Park with works by Lynn Chadwick, Thomas Houseago, Dennis Oppenheim and Scenocosme for 2021.
Chadwick’s iron and bronze sculptures, “Crouching Beast II,” represent schematic zoomorphic or anthropomorphic figures, charged with great emotional power. Houseago’s interest in the human body is portrayed through “Lumpy Figure,” a colossal and imperfect figure that repels and attracts at the same time. A pioneer of Earth Art, Oppenheim places his works in a natural environment by integrating the peculiarities of the landscape. In 2008, he created eighteen sculptures evoking the shape of cacti, including “Architectural Cactus # 1-12.” Scenocosme presents “Pulsations,” a sound installation on a living tree offers a sensitive, organic and soothing relationship.
Besides the Sculpture Park, exhibitions by artists like Anne et Patrick Poirier, Antoine Carbonne and Lynn Chadwick are on view throughout the summer at Domaine du Muy.
