"Dorothea Lange: Photography as Activism," is on view online.
On view online is an exhibition entitled "Dorothea Lange: Photography as Activism," presented by the Oakland Museum of California (OMCA). In this exhibition, the world-renowned documentary photographer's works are shown in an expanded installation in the Gallery of California Art. Viewers get a glimpse into the lens of Lange, who captured some of the most powerful moments of the 20th century in America. Images are drawn from Lange’s personal archive, which was gifted to OMCA over 50 years ago, and in response to "Dorothea Lange: The Politics of Seeing," which was presented by 2017. In addition to these previous works, an array of photographs were added to the presentation, visualizing the power of photography as social activism.
