Through the transformative vision of Creative Director Alessandro Michele, Gucci opens its second Seoul flagship store in the historic Itaewon neighborhood. Spanning over 1,015 square meters and four floors, the vibrant space invokes a “gaok”—meaning traditional Korean home—and offers a gracious and eclectic atmosphere. Inside, visitors will behold sumptuous furniture, contemporary design, and a surprising 1970s nightclub aesthetic amid a range of clothing designs. From women’s and men’s ready-to-wear to Gucci Decor, the new space reflects the diverse international city of nearby and ancient Hanyang. The Korean artist Seung Mo Park designed the building’s incredible facade—an illusory forest that plays with light and shadow, while considering the fragile nature of our natural environment.
