From September 1—11, The High Line Nine is presenting the group exhibition “The Art of Resilience,” which looks at the resilience of the community surrounding Kenya’s Lewa Wildlife Conservancy and the challenges faced during COVID-19. Presented in partnership with Montague Contemporary, the show features works highlighting the conservation and its dependence on tourism, including the artists Charlie V. Rose, Pie Herring, Joel Kioko, Migwa Nthiga, Anyango Mipinga, Elias Mung’ora, Paul Onditi, and Dennis Muraguri. Including a variety of vibrant paintings, mixed media on paper, woodcut prints, and more, proceeds from the sale of the exhibited works will be donated back to Lewa, which is a non-profit UNESCO World Heritage Site.
