At Urban Zen, Donna Karan‘s exhibition and event space in the West Village, “To Each, Her Own” is on view through April 8. Curated and presented by Karan’s long-term collaborator, Mashonda Tifrere, the founder of ArtLeadHer, the show features work by 16 artists in celebration of Women’s History Month. For the first time, the duo’s annual collaborative exhibition will also see works from males that reflect women and the feminine traits they see and embrace. Pieces—from Monica Ikegwu, Lauren Pearce, Megan Lewis, Akilah Watts, Alanis Forde, Chantel Walkes, Cydne Jasmin Coleby, Eniwaye Oluwaseyi, Ikeorah Chisom Chi-FADA, Jewel Ham, Johnson Ocheja, Lanecia Rouse Tinsley, Marie-Danielle Duval, Robert Peterson, Ronnie Robinson, and Victor Ubah—range from paintings to photographs and collages, communicating aspects of personal identity, power, feminine and masculine energy, self-reflection, and self-awareness.
In addition to the exhibition, ArtLeadHer has organized a month-long program of talks, workshops, and film screenings, featuring art professionals, scholars, and curators from companies like Artsy, Christie’s, and The Brooklyn Museum.
