Summer calls for relaxation and exploration to the best spots around the Hamptons, here we’ve gathered fan favorites from Marram, The Surf Lodge, and more.

Each summer, the Hamptons buzzes with activity from hotels, wellness destinations, restaurants, shops, and more. Here, Whitewall highlights the best Hamptons hotspots to explore this summer—from new happenings at lodgings like Marram and The Surf Lodge to pop-up events with Mytheresa, Flamingo Estate, The Reform Club, and more.

MARRAM

MARRAM offers a gorgeous oceanfront oasis in central Montauk, just steps from the sea. Inside, warm materials in a light color palette dress 96 rooms, encouraging guests to focus on life’s simple pleasures. Each suite is filled with carefully selected art and design objects to inspire a fresh perspective, embodying the atmosphere of nature. Beyond each room, MARRAM invites guests to connect with the captivating spirit of Montauk’s outdoors by walking on the beach to Shadmoor State Park, surfing in front of the hotel, or exploring the community on complimentary cruiser bikes. Additionally, visitors are welcome to enjoy the hotel’s curated experiences—such as guided nature walks and morning meditation groups. 

This month, to celebrate the Olympics, MARRAM created the “Marramlympics” for guests to compete in activities of chess, cornhole, gymnastics-inspired poolside yoga, a Triathlon, and more throughout the duration of the Paris-based games. This summer, the hotel also introduced Paella Nights at its onsite restaurant, Mostrador. Highlighting the signature dish of Chef Trocca’s, it’s available for guests to book each Thursday until Labor Day.

The Montauk Yacht Club reopened on July 27 following an extensive renovation under the new management of Proper Hospitality. Originally built in 1928, the 35-acre property is home to the largest marina. Inside, the hotel hosts 107 rooms designed with light-filled interiors that reflect the original architectural charm, featuring views of the garden, marina, and lakefront.

Under this new chapter with Proper Hospitality, guests have the opportunity to explore The Ocean Club Montauk, which seats 220 guests for a fine dining experience from the acclaimed South African Chef Jarad McCarroll. Additionally, The Montauk Yacht Club launched a summer-long partnership with La Prairie for an unforgettable spa program, bringing guests luxurious facial treatments with signature products.

Journey East Hampton

Journey East Hampton is a hidden gem, comfortably situated between the villages of East Hampton and Amagansett. The hotel hosts 25 rooms that range from a traditional studio to a 2-bedroom luxury suite, accompanied by detached cottages that take inspiration from the nearby coastline with a cool-toned palette.

At Journey, a weekend away truly becomes a journey, with guests embarking on the vast amount of amenities spread across the sprawling yard. Featured at the hotel is a saltwater swimming pool, private yoga classes with instructor Marisa, and nightly firepit sessions. Additionally, complimentary bikes are offered for guests to explore the beautiful outdoors just steps away from luxury shopping at Chanel, Prada, Gucci, and more.

The Maidstone East Hampton

The Maidstone hotel reopened this summer on June 20 under the new direction of LDV Hospitality Group, bringing East Hampton a sense of La Dolce Vita lifestyle. The 150-year-old building is located in the town’s historic district, with renovations honoring the spirit of the building’s iconic history. Inside, rooms reflect timeless design beauty with a natural palette of earthy sand tones, warm amber, and soft peaches. Under this exciting chapter, the Maidstone hotel provides guests with a rejuvenated experience featuring exquisite food from Chef Jorge Espinoza and a new beverage program in the garden.

Onsite, countless amenities for guests are available to indulge in, including a retail shack that features goods from Giulivia Heritage and Tata Harper Skincare—and even mini facials from the skincare brand on select weekends. Twice a month, artists Beau Rush and Cameron Bishop will also host Clay Camps to teach guests the fundamentals of pottery. Lastly, guests throughout this summer will be delighted to visit Gucci’s airstream, bringing to life the brand’s “Lido” collection, offering complimentary to-go coffee from 7-11 a.m. on Wednesday through Sunday.

The Surf Lodge

Montauk’s prized hotel The Surf Lodge remains committed to creating memorable and unique experiences. With just 20 guest rooms and suites that pack a punch on the waterfront, the property has become a never-ending summer celebration with live music, wellness experiences, and immersive art—one amplified by an annual artist residency program. This year’s featured artist in the residency program is Theo Pinto who moved from Brazil to local Long Island at 16 to pursue his dream of becoming an artist. Pinto’s work featured around The Surf Lodge is entitled “Skyscapes,” which explores the mysterious beauty of light when day meets night and sky meets earth. He gained inspiration from Long Island’s rich artistic history and its renowned sunsets where he used Lenticulars and oil paint to focus on the quality of light. 

Guests this summer are also encouraged to bookmark “A Day in St. Tropez,” happening August 4. Within the hotel’s lakeside setting, guests will be transported to the South of France with a special menu curated by Chef Andrew Ayala from the Michelin-starred restaurant Le Jardinier by The Bastion Collection. Additionally, The Surf Lodge unveiled this summer a new Mediterranean-inspired restaurant, Casa Sereña, including a menu of shared plates, fresh fish, and vegetables.

Mytheresa x Flamingo Estate

Mytheresa and Flamingo Estate rejoined forces this summer to launch their East Hampton seasonal popup named “The Railroad Racetrack”. The two brands began this partnership last year, combining their expertise in fashion and wellness that led them to a seasonal activation. This year, it’s open from June 28–August 18, featuring a design installation inspired by the building’s past, featuring a miniature racetrack garden, game room, and VIP lounge. 

Here, guests are able to explore a private and relaxing shopping experience with Mytheresa personal shoppers, featuring brands they may have seen on the brand’s online shop, like Missoni, Valentino, Givenchy, Khatie, and more. For the activation, Porsche is also a sponsor, showcasing its new all-electric SUV, the Macan, and all-electric sedan the Taycan for guests to test drive in. Before departing, visitors are encouraged to visit the Flamingo Estate “Inconvenience Store” which offers guests a variety of stock in apothecary and pantry products.

The Reform Club x Remedy Place

The Reform Club hotel in Amagansett combines the natural beauty of the landscape with rich craftsmanship, material, and contemporary works to offer guests a full service of amenities. The hotel hosts 7 suites, 3 cottages, and 21 houses that hold charming personalities to promote relaxation. Enhancing guest experiences, The Reform Club utilizes iPad technology to connect guests with staff about their needs and to book amenity options.

This summer, the hotel teamed up with the Remedy Place for the world’s first social wellness club. The hotel retreat is held from August 22–25, inviting guests to immerse themselves in a range of self-care experiences. During the stay, Remedy Place curated innovative wellness practices—including breathwork ice bath sessions, chiropractic movement, yoga, and pilates—to empower guests to value their health through cutting-edge remedies, self-care, and human connection.

Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa x Dolce & Gabanna

Special for this summer is a collaboration between the iconic Hamptons destination, Gurney’s Montauk Resort & Seawater Spa, and the fashion brand Dolce&Gabbana. Revamping the hotel’s Beach Club and East Deck outdoor area, the fusion of high-end fashion and design reveals an exquisite oceanfront experiences for guests, touched by the fashion brands’ signature style. Available for guests are exclusive beachwear collections, curated music, and innovative cocktails that reflect the brand’s Italian heritage. For the summer, the outdoor bar seating has been transformed into a glamorous Mediterranean oasis, revealing a sophisticated ambiance for visitors to relax and savor cocktails and sumptuous bites.

What we love: Reserving a cabana bed for eight people.
