The Whitney Museum of American Art’s “Working Together: The Photographers of the Kamoinge Workshop” documents the formative years of the New York City group of Black photographers, established in 1963. Named for the Gikuyu word “Kamoinge,” which means “a group of people acting together,” the exhibition features around 140 images by 14 members of the group, including names like Al Fennar, Herman Howard, Shawn Walker, and Ray Francis.
