Pati Hill: Something other than either

An exhibition of the late Pati Hill, Kunsthalle Zurich’s “Something other than either” is the most comprehensive showing of the artist’s work to date. On view, the show demonstrates Hill’s multifaceted oeuvre, which evades artistic canons of her time like avant-garde and feminine art. Largely unrecognized until recent years, Hill’s work includes novels, short stories, and instruction manuals in addition to visual art creations like her 1977-78 invention of a new symbol language.
