Aspen Art Week 2024 is packed with celebrations for the local and global creative community. Here, Whitewall highlights a selection of top hotels to stay at while in town.

This year’s edition of Aspen Art Week celebrates presentations at the Aspen Art Museum, its annual benefit ArtCrush, and gallery exhibitions galore. Additionally, the city is abuzz with food and beverage options, five-star accommodations, and boutiques open to all. Here, Whitewall highlights the best Aspen hotels to stay at while in town—from the newly-opened MOLLIE to The St. Regis and beyond.

MOLLIE Aspen

Developed by HayMax Capital in collaboration with CCY Architects, the newly-opened MOLLIE Aspen is a design oasis on the edge of Paepcke Park. Inspired by the inimitable Mollie Gibson—a local figure known for her enthusiasm for community and the great outdoors—the 68-room boutique property pays homage to her contributions to Aspen through an interior designed by the awarding-winning studio Post Company, filled with residential comforts and elements of understated luxury. Natural woods and earthen ceramics join hand-dyed textiles for a warm Western greeting.

When entering the hotel’s lobby, guests can immediately immerse themselves in a cozy atmosphere, which transports them to MOLLIE’s bar and restaurant—spearheaded by Gin & Luck, from the acclaimed Death & Co. brand—as well as its rooftop bar and terrace, which feature unobstructed views of Aspen Mountain.

What we love: Partaking in Saturday Brunch Club.

Hotel Jerome

In 1889, Hotel Jerome opened in Aspen. As the local legend goes, it is the only hotel to have survived the silver crash, winters without ski resorts, and the Great Depression. Today, it is part of the Auberge Resorts portfolio, keeping both history and contemporary luxuries afloat through gorgeously decorated interiors, art and design objects, five-star amenities, food and beverage outlets, wellness offerings, outdoor programming, and more.

Inside, junior, luxury, deluxe, and residential suites all offer mountainside charm through heritage details and updated elements—from floor-to-ceiling windows to tree-stump lamps and cowhide chairs. Those looking for a bite or a beverage can wander into the sit-down restaurant Prospect for exceptional a la carte bites or The Colorado Experience tasting menu; the back-bar cocktail spot, Bad Harriet, for sensational sips; J-Bar or The Living Room for small bites, modern cocktails, beer, wine, and more; and Felix Roasting Co. for coffee—the brand’s first location outside of New York City.

What we love: An afternoon massage at the newly-imagined Yarrow spa.

The hotel features shuttle service to and from the airport, valet, two Tesla charging stations, a WE-Cycle bike station, on-site tennis courts, two outdoor heated pools, three outdoor hot tubs, a fitness center, and access to year-round activities like golf, hiking, mountain biking, fly fishing, white water rafting, rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, and snowmobiling.

What we love: Getting a snack from Origin by The Farmer & Chef—a local collaboration between The Gant and The Farmer & Chef—near the pool.

Known as a premier gathering place for hospitality, wine, and art aficionados, The Little Nell is an Aspen staple. Created by the family of the artist Paula Crown, the hotel is a central space for visitors and locals alike, featuring Holly Hunt-designed suites, a heated outdoor pool and jacuzzi, complimentary summer and snow bikes, cellars hosting over 20,000 bottles of wine, and an array of purchasable outdoor adventures.

Joining the hotel is a world-renowned art collection—that features works from artists like Theaster Gates, Paula Crown, Angel Otero, Michelle Grabner, and more—and two on-site food and beverage concepts. Locals love the homemade preserves from the restaurant Element 47 and Truffle fries and draft beer on at patio of Ajax Tavern.

What we love: Enjoying the Dior Spa.

Pet-friendly and charming, the hotel also encourages guests to explore the boundless beauty of Aspen outside and partake in an activity—from hiking and paddle-boarding to whitewater rafting and fly-fishing.
