With a collection based around the essential winter staples of coats, pants, dresses, and boots, the pieces in the Derek Lam fall/winter 2014-15 collection draws inspiration from a place of striking color mixes, unusual cuts, and lots of patchwork as presented in New York this past week.
Pastels and striking deep shades were paired with rich naturals, which ultimately resulted in a bold silhouette of unique individualized pieces. Lam created cuffs in a bright tone and collars graphically and asymmetrically cut, while showcasing a knack for deep necklines.
The luxuriously sporty collection built a lineup for the show of elevated basics by presenting easy dresses, patchwork skirts, tight pants, overcoats, and leather boots of neutral shades paired with the likes of lavender, light pinks, and greens.
