Bang & Olufsen has debuted a special edition speaker in collaboration with artist David Lynch, coinciding with the brand’s popup at the MoMA Design Store. The collection includes three models (Beoplay A9, Beoplay M5, and Beoplay P2), each featuring abstracted works from Lynch’s “War Between the Shapes” series.
New from YOOX is designer Gaetano Pesce’s Big Collina vase, now available on the retailer’s website. Pesce created the archetypal vase with resin, showing a totally unique creation of fiery red, orange, and yellow hues.
Sevan Biçakçi has announced the upcoming debut of an 85-piece collection of timepieces—an entirely new category for the brand. Featuring gemstones like diamonds and pearls, and elements like engravings and reverse-carved intaglios, each timepiece is one-of-a-kind. While telling tales of Turkish traditions, each piece includes the technical sophistication of Swiss-made movements.
Birkenstock has opened its first-ever U.S. location in New York on Spring Street. Inside, customers can peruse the brand’s full range of products, like footwear, socks, bags, and a new natural skin care line, as well as the newest limited-edition products designed in collaboration by Rick Owens. To celebrate its opening, Birkenstock also debuted an installation with Amit Greenberg, and two pieces bearing his artwork—a tee-shirt and an Arizona sandal.
Bulgari has released the latest edition of its Grande Sonnerie watch, the Octo Grande Sonnerie Quantieme Perpetuel. The new piece shows over 20 features and complications (like both a grande and petitie sonnerie, a perpetual calendar, moon phases, and water-resistant capabilities), and modern updates (like a black alligator strap, a transparent glass back, andn 18 karat rose gold case.
Hermès has debuted two new timepieces—the Arceau Robe du Soir and the Heure H Double Jeu. Playful yet chic, the Heure H Double Jeu is available in variations of black and white. Influenced by Philippe Mouquet’s signature Heure H design from 1996, the watch features a vertical or horizontal face in the shape of the letter H, some complete with small, sparkling diamonds, and all on a calfskin strap.
The Arceau Robe du Soir, inspired by Florence Manlik’s silk scarf design, is a 12-piece limited edition piece that features a colorful equestrian motif in mosaiced leather, a rose gold case, and an electric blue calfskin strap.
Perfect for the oncoming fall weather, and perhaps a weekend rodeo, MISBHV shows an updated take on the classic cowboy boot. Created for both men and women, and with a slight heel at just-above-the-ankle cut , the boot is available in white, black, or colorful snakeskin.
Paco Rabanne has introduced the new Pocket bag—the brand’s latest interpretation of its iconic bag from 1969. Still with brand’s signature articulated metal details, available in red, black, or a mirrored material, the compact bag can easily be worn over the shoulder with its ultra-sleek, long strap.
After its first appearance 63 years ago, Dior is bringing back a selection of clogs for its Fall/Winter 2018 collection. Updated by designer Maria Grazia Chiuri, the shoes’ wooden heels and metal studs are seen accompanied by a variety of materials like leather, patchwork embroidery, goatskin, and Dior logo-printed canvas.
Eugenia Kim is celebrating 20 years with a retrospective collection, featuring 20 of the brand’s most iconic styles from over the years. Available at Barney’s New York on Madison Avenue, the collection includes pieces like the first hat ever created by Kim, hats worn by Brittney Spears and Janet Jackson, and the beret worn by Beyoncé during the 2018 Grammy awards.
