Annual Commission: Trulee Hall

Katy Donoghue

18 September 2020

For this year’s Annual Commission, the Zabludowicz Collection welcomes American artist Trulee Hall. The artist is known for creating enchanting and exciting worlds that also retain an underlying uneasy seediness. For the commission, Hall transformed the gallery space into an immersive environment where the viewer moves through discordant scenes, each presenting a tangled meta-narrative. The series of installations imagined by Hall include video, sculptures, paintings, composed soundtracks, and kinetic mechanisms, allowing a fractured and faceted perspective.
