The third installation in Francesco Arena’s trilogy of shows with Galleria Raffaella Cortese, “Terza mostra: tre cose” (Third exhibition: three things) focuses on three separate works, presented in three separate spaces. Considering trios of words like “flag, book, beam,” Arena plays with concepts of space and line in the works on view—including Bandiera linearizzata (Linearized flag), the diagonal deconstructed flag, which changes based on its presenting space; the book and steel cable installation Orizzonte lasco (Loose horizon); and Sentenza in sei metri da zero a sessantasei centimetri (Sentence in six meters from zero to sixty-six centimeters), which highlights the relationship between height and walking surface.
