Do Ho Suh

In Lehmann Maupin’s exhibition of Do Ho Suh, the artist is presenting a selection of new works that look at the politics and subjectivity of memory. Through mediums like film, photography, drawing, and sculpture, Suh expands on this longstanding subject of focus by way of topics including memory, home, psychic space, and displacement. In this dynamic presentation, viewers will be greeted by the opening sculpture titled Inverted Monument (which tactfully directs the viewer to the bottom of a pedestal whilst questioning why we elevate certain people and things within civic spaces), finding throughout the gallery works like a culmination of the artist’s Specimen series called Jet Lag, photographic skyscapes, an immersive video, and more.
