As an extension of their Bund waterfront location, Bottega Veneta now presents “Pleasures of the Imaginary” at the Yifeng Galleria in Shanghai. The exhibition, which opened on June 13, is part of Bottega Veneta’s ongoing commitment to exhibiting contemporary art as not only a means of creating a distinctive retail experience, but as a means of nurturing artistic innovation.
Following previous exhibitions such as “Talking Objects” and “Facing Faces,” “Pleasures of the Imaginary” focuses on seven artists from throughout China. Working specifically in photography, these artists investigate and react to fantasy in the contemporary world. One of Creative Director Tomas Maier’s passions, photography has proven to be a particularly expressive and emotive medium in Chinese art.
Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Bottega Veneta, expressed his hope that the exhibitions reach customers on a personal level. He explained, “Bottega Veneta is deeply devoted to pursuing perfection in craftsmanship and service, but there is also an unwavering support for creative talent, which is not only something that is intertwined with our values as a brand, but something we realize is important to our customers.”
“Pleasures of the Imaginary” will be on view through September.
