Sasha Pivovarova Hosts Dior Launch of Spring 2018 Collection

On February 6, Dior and Sasha Pivovarova hosted a party celebrating the launch of the Dior’s Spring/Summer 2018 women’s ready-to- wear collection, designed by Artistic Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Guests were invited to explore artworks and illustrations by Pivovarova, the face of the Spring/Summer 2018 campaign, and an ongoing collaborator of the house.

The collection was inspired by images of Niki de Saint Phalle, a pioneering French-American sculptor. With a further focus on women in the arts, Pivovarova wore a shirt that read “Why Have There Been No Great Women Artists?” (referencing Linda Nochlin’s 1971 essay) to open the runway show last fall.
