ETRO is revamping the characteristics of the Scapigliatura—an Italian movement in the late 1800s that propelled outside-the-lines creativity. Over the next several weeks, ETRO’s menswear creative director Kean Etro is changing our perception of poets, highlighting eleven artists of varying creative professions to partake in its project dubbed “The Circle of Poets.” By inviting artists to share their stories from professions in photography, film, clothing design, fine art, and more, ETRO is enabling the creative community to express their mutual connections, and generate more of a dialogue around the possibility and value of art.
Designated by profession, artists from Milan are showing off their truest talents, while being photographed in ETRO by “The Circle of Poets” photographer Nicolò Gialain. Alongside Gialain are 10 other professionals: Adalberto Lombardo, a film director; Alan Borguet, a painter; Andrea Zardin, an art dealer; Catherine Leo, a student of fine arts; Cesare Rimini, a designer; Edoardo Tabacchi, a tattoo artist; Federico Signorelli, an entrepreneur; Jacques Leo, a painter; Matteo Ciabattini, an architect; and Niccolò Basso, a musician.
“The Circle of Poets” will be showcased over the brand’s social media platforms, and readers are encouraged to submit works for consideration on Etro.com.
