The “Sixth Fendi Child” Shoots the Latest Campaign

For the FENDI fall/winter 2014-15 campaign, the “sixth Fendi child,” aka Karl Lagerfeld, took his turn wielding the camera. Lagerfeld, who is creative director of FENDI (in addition to Chanel and his own eponymous label), shot the campaign with a contemporary perspective while alluding to the fashion house’s history and the wonder of the Eternal City.

For its setting, Lagerfeld chose Palazzo della Civiltà, one of the more modern structures in Rome and FENDI’s future headquarters. The building is graphic and striking, an iconic choice.

The campaign features Nadja Bender and Ashleigh Good, who, in their clean, dark ensembles, tower in front of a perfect blue sky. The handbags that rest alongside the models dominate the image equally. The images present the brand’s signature Peekaboo, the 2Jours, and the 3Jours, in addition to the new By the Way.

The full campaign will appear worldwide in August 2014.
