Italian design furnishings company, B&B Italia marks its 50th anniversary by presenting the English version of the documentary film B&B Italia. Poetry in the shape. When design meets industry. The screening of the film occurred during IMM Cologne at the Kölnischer Kunstverein this week. The documentary, made by 3D Produzioni for Sky Arte HD, shares the entrepreneurial story of B&B Italia’s founder Piero Ambrogio Busnelli, and the company’s history and contemporary identity. Along with the film, B&B Italia is releasing a book, exhibition, and other initiatives highlighting their history in industrial design.
Coinciding with the milestone is the XXI International Exhibition of the Triennale di Milano. B&B Italia will be showcasing pieces at the Impluvium area inside the Triennale al Parco in accordance with this year’s theme “21st Century. Design after Design.” Visitors will be able to observe the brands’s legacy of innovation and commitment to spreading Italian design on a global scale. Furthermore, the book The long life of design in Italy. B&B Italia 50 years and beyond, edited by Stefano Casciani, describes the most crucial elements of B&B Italia; from its history to current affairs, production, innovation, and technologies.

The XXI International Exhibition of the Triennale di Milano runs from April 2—September 12. The book will be launched at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in 2016.
