Dior Maison is debuting two joyful and bright collections, “Copacabana” and “Dior Gardens.”
The “Copacabana” collection pays tribute to Brazilian joie de vivre and Christian Dior’s fascination and love for the country. As the couturier often paid tribute to Brazil in multiple haute couture dresses, Dior Maison’s creative director Cordelia de Castellane has done the same. The new collection includes seaweed motifs and floral aesthetics on plates, woven placemats, decorative glass balls, and vases that resemble aquariums. The hand-blown glass creations are inspired by Brazil’s sunny shore.
The “Dior Gardens” collection features delicate motifs capturing the beauty of nature and well-being. Showcasing Dior’s fascination with flowers, these pieces are an ode to Christian Dior’s love of the outdoors, including country-style placemats, colorful vases, as well as table settings and earthenware plates. The collection follows a similar theme of Maria Grazia Chiuri’s tree-filled Spring/Summer 2020 ready-to-wear show.
With these latest launches, Dior Maison aims to make everyone feel at home, because as said by Christian Dior himself, “Living in a house which doesn’t reflect who you are is a bit like wearing someone else’s clothes.”
