New from Flexform during Milan Design Week, we saw new collections made for indoors and out, as well as the exhibition “Portraying Design, Celebrating Tradition & Innovation” at the Via della Moscova flagship. Organized by Natalia Corbetta and open through April 30th, the show traces the house’s heritage back to the 1980s, telling its story through beautifully-displayed ad campaigns and archival imagery shot by names like Gabriele Basilico and Gian Paolo Barbieri.
Meanwhile, we saw designs by Antonio Citterio and Patrick Norguet coming to join the “Indoor” and “Outdoor” collections. Among several debuts, our favorites included Citterio’s Supermax sofa, which features a circular seat and a tubular backrest, and Norguet’s Kobo Outdoor table, which looked to furniture designs of some African countries to inspire its solid, wooden rectangular form—a style that makes us picture the perfect spot for dining alfresco with friends. The “Outdoor” collection also included pieces like the Milos and Meriggio sofas and the Atlante Wood daybed by Citterio, whereas the “Indoor” collection encompassed the Alma and Doris S.H. chairs and the Perry Up sofa, also by Citterio.
