New York is now home to the eighth Mykita shop worldwide and the first in the U.S. Unveiled just last night, the SoHo location sports stark white walls, with bright LED lights pulsing behind them.
Sun and optical glasses are the sole décor of the shop, placed along the walls against a haphazard, yet systematic pattern. The result is a cool, industrial installation, with a bold and simple construction that retains the original character of the art deco factory building.

In addition to the wall installation are out-of-service flight attendant trolleys that serve as large tabletops and storage. Having circled the globe a thousand times these trolleys have been given new life as the home of MYKITA glasses.
A few standout pieces and our personal favorites are the Mykita Mylon Orion sunglasses and IO optical glasses of the same collection.

MYKITA’s in-house workshop in Berlin has been supplying handcrafted eyewear for the high-end segment since 2003. MYKITA is available in 60 countries worldwide – at high-end opticians, department stores and selected fashion shops.
